Winter Journal 2025
Summary: Hello, I'm Emily Nguyen, a current AP photography student at Beckman High School. I have always taken an interest in capturing the beautiful aspects of nature, but throughout my four years of photography, I was able to explore much more, such as having the opportunity to experiment with different types of photography as well as learning more about digital editing and rendering in Photoshop. I'm also in my second year of taking graphic design, and I hope to take what everything I'm learning in the arts forward with me even after I graduate.
Winter Break: Regarding my winter break, I was able to catch up on a lot of sleep and really relax, having the time to do the things I love, whether that was playing videos games, watching shows, or going out to places. It was super great since I no longer had to worry and be stressed about school and homework. I was also excited because on Christmas day, my family and I went to Las Vegas. Everything was filled with really beautiful holiday decorations. Even the Las Vegas strip itself was exciting, especially at night with all the bright lights.
New Years Resolutions: I have a couple resolutions, but first and foremost, I want to be able to get rid of my procrastination and be able to stay productive. I noticed that I often laze around, not getting my work done until the very last minute. This has caused a lot of issues lately, so I'm hoping I can get back on track. Another goal that I have is getting my driver's license. I'm turning 18 soon, but I haven't even learned to drive. I hope to achieve that over the summer before I start college.

What is a resolution or future goal you have for yourself?
A future goal I have for myself is a bit far in the future, but first, I hope to be admitted to UCI, and from there, major in pharmacy, be accepted into pharmacy school, and finally establish my career as a pharmacist.
What is something you are proud of or challenges you faced?
Some challenges I have faced is struggling to find a good study method that is both efficient and effective. I'm been able to do well in my classes, but a huge part of that is due to me taking a crazy amount of notes. These notes take up a lot of time, and although, they greatly help for tests, I don't think it's worth spending hours on. This is the only study method that has worked for me, but I hope to find a different way that is as effective but not as time-consuming and exhausting.
What is something you are grateful for daily happenings?
I'm just grateful for my family and where I am right now. I'm grateful for what I have, such as food, a good education, and much more because I know that not everyone is fortunate to have the things I have.
